Summary
Fiscal Court approved a road disturbance permit for the Horus Solar Project, agreeing to evaluate and repair Peden Mill Road and to take on responsibility for one additional damaged area; the company will cover or reimburse the county for other repairs.
Simpson County Fiscal Court on Jan. 6 approved a Road Disturbance Permit for the Horus Solar Project and authorized the Public Works Director and County Judge to sign the permit documents.
County officials said the project would not interfere with residents on the street. As part of the agreement, the county will evaluate the condition of Peden Mill Road and accept responsibility for repairing a separate area already identified as in disrepair; the solar developer will be responsible for any other damage it causes and either pay the county or contract for repairs directly.
Public Works Director Bobby Groves was present and the minutes record the county and company agreeing on the scope of responsibility for road repairs. The motion to approve the permit carried unanimously.
