Fleming County Fiscal Court approves contracts, Carpenter Road resurfacing resolution and budget amendment first reading

At its July 28, 2025 special meeting the Fleming County Fiscal Court unanimously approved claims including a Pettitt Contracting authorization of $79,374, approved a KTC agreement and Resolution 25-1432 for Carpenter Road resurfacing, renewed a McGregor ACA reporting agreement and passed the first reading of Ordinance 25-1431 (budget amendment).
The Fleming County Fiscal Court on July 28, 2025 approved several routine but consequential items, including contract authorizations, a road-resurfacing resolution and a first reading of a budget amendment.
The court unanimously approved claims and authorized Pettitt Contracting expenditures of up to $79,374.00. Ray H. Money moved the motion and Donnie Fawns seconded; the motion passed without objection.
Magistrate Taylor Hunt moved and Magistrate Blake Price seconded approval of a KTC agreement and Resolution 25-1432 to fund resurfacing of Carpenter Road; the court approved the resolution unanimously. The court also unanimously approved renewal of an agreement with McGregor for ACA reporting (motion by Blake Price; second by Ray H. Money).
Magistrate Blake Price moved and Magistrate Kerri Marshall seconded approval of the first reading of Ordinance 25-1431, a budget amendment; the first reading was approved unanimously. The court took no action on an earlier motion to accept a compensating tax rate, and later voted 3' to keep the 2025 rates unchanged.
County Judge/Executive Sims opened the session at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m. The clerk recorded that a public hearing on the proposed 2025 tax rates will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Aug. 12, 2025 at the Fleming County Courthouse.
