Fleming County Fiscal Court approves routine contracts, budget amendment and opts into two opioid settlements

Fleming County Fiscal Court on Aug. 12 approved a series of administrative actions, including passage of a budget amendment, contract renewals, grant agreements and participation in two national opioid-settlement rubrics.

The court approved the second reading and passage of Ordinance 25-1431, a budget amendment. It also approved renewal of the contract with Altius, the 2025 Waste Tire Collection event agreement, and the 2025 Litter Abatement grant agreement. The court approved month-ending July financial reports showing total all funds of $1,652,645.94 and approved budget and cash transfers as presented.

Administrative and personnel items approved included moving the county payroll date to Jan. 2, 2026, approval of claims reports and county departmental reports, and authorization to publish a public notice to hire one additional part‑time dispatcher; applications are to be picked up at the Dispatch Center.

The court voted unanimously to participate and opt in to two National Opioid Settlement rubrics, referenced as CL-1749517 and CL-1771222.

What happens next: Ordinance 25-1431 was recorded as passed on second reading; the clerk’s office will reflect budget changes in county accounts. The county will proceed with the hiring notice for a part-time dispatcher and pursue administrative steps for the opioid-settlement participation.
