Fleming County Fiscal Court approves budget amendment, appointments and routine business

The court moved quickly through routine business. The agenda and the Oct. 14 meeting minutes were approved unanimously. The court unanimously appointed Angie Stephens and Jeffrey Edmond to the Fleming County Extension District Board to serve until Dec. 31, 2028.
The court approved Resolution 25-1437 and an accompanying statewide mutual aid agreement unanimously. It also approved the second reading and passage of Ordinance 14-1434, a budget amendment presented during the meeting.
The court accepted the month-end financial reports for Oct. 31, 2025, showing total balances across funds of $2,114,593.03, including the General Fund at $734,805.72 and the Opioid Fund at $307,479.70. Budget transfers, cash transfers and claims reports were all approved by unanimous vote.
On departmental reports, the court approved monthly reports from the Fleming County Clerk, the Fleming County Sheriff (name not specified in the record) and the jailer, and accepted the dispatch report. The court approved a $20,000 allocation to the Fleming County Sheriff from Program Support.
The court also authorized surplusing a 2008 Chevrolet (VIN recorded as 8538) for sale at a forthcoming auction, approved junking an old voice recorder (Inventory #1016), and expressed institutional support for two candidates in the upcoming Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) Board election, voting to support Mr. Cockrell and Ms. Reilly.
