Fleming County Fiscal Court approves financial reports, transfers, appointments and contracts

Fleming County Fiscal Court on Feb. 10 unanimously approved routine financial and administrative business, including month-ending Jan. 31, 2026 financial reports that showed total funds of $2,464,718.92 across county accounts.
The court approved Budget Transfers Reports #9 and #10 and authorized cash transfers as presented. Members also approved claims and payments including a $600 payment to the Fleming County Attorney for rent, a $4,000 partial election payment to Harp, up to $1,200 to Logan Construction for snow removal, and a $50 payment to the Kentucky State Treasurer for pesticide license renewals.
Officials voted to reappoint Adam Donovan to the Flemingsburg-Fleming County Industrial Authority for a term from Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2029. The court approved the 2026 elected officials' salary order, effective Jan. 1, 2026, and approved the first reading of Ordinance 26-1440 regarding nuisance abatement.
Other approvals included a two-year preventive-maintenance agreement with HMC for the judicial center HVAC at $14,648.00 per year, the Fleming County Dispatch report, the Fleming County Jailer’s report, and a final 2025 budget settlement for the Fleming County Sheriff. The court also voted to junk a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria (VIN 4037) that has been used for parts and cannot be located.
Court members discussed a draft facility dog housing agreement and requested revisions; the agreement will return for approval at the next meeting. County Judge/Executive Sims announced the March 10, 2026 Fiscal Court meeting will be held at Fleming County High School at 9:00 AM.
