Court addresses road maintenance, salt shortage and bridge remediation funding

Fleming County Fiscal Court members approved the December 2025 County Road Maintenance Reports and discussed an ongoing shortage of road salt from Compass Minerals that has delayed deliveries.
County Road Department Supervisor Anthony Vise told the court that Compass Minerals has not delivered the ordered salt due to lack of product, and he warned the county may need to procure salt from a higher-priced supplier if additional salt becomes necessary to keep roads treated. The court approved the December road-maintenance report by unanimous vote.
The court also approved a revised AEUG Road Use Agreement as presented. For local bridge work, the court approved funding agreements (if awarded) for remediation of the Lazy Oaks Lane bridge and two bridges on Jackson Hollow Road, authorized release for bids and approved any required matching funds (the court noted a possible 80/20 bridge funding requirement). These motions were approved unanimously.
