Sevier County steering committee recommends Donald Adams as road superintendent, approves several board appointments and a proclamation supporting SB 1080-HB 64

The Sevier County Board of Commissioners Steering Committee met Dec. 8 at 5:03 p.m. and unanimously recommended Donald Adams to serve as road superintendent to fulfill the current term ending Aug. 31, 2026. Mayor Larry Waters presented Adams’s single application; Commissioner Ronnie Allen moved to accept the application and Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The committee then approved nominations to several county boards. Mayor Waters presented candidates for the Sevier County Beer Board; Commissioner Aaron Foster moved to accept the nominations, and Commissioner Harold Pitner seconded. The motion passed unanimously. The committee also approved nominations to the Sevier County Industrial Development Board, the Sevier County Public Building Authority and the Sevier County Health, Education, and Housing Facilities Board after a single motion and second; those motions likewise passed unanimously.
Mayor Waters, Vice Mayor Bryan McCarter and Commissioner Aaron Foster presented Proclamation 2025-12-XX requesting that the Tennessee General Assembly include funding for SB 1080-HB 649. Commissioner Harold Pitner moved to approve the proclamation and Commissioner Carroll Rauhuff seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Before adjourning, the committee accepted the Board of Commissioners’ final agenda for the Dec. 15, 2025 meeting after a motion by Commissioner Rauhuff and a second by Commissioner Ronnie Allen. Commissioner Rauhuff then moved to adjourn; Commissioner Barbara Parton seconded and the meeting ended at 5:12 p.m.
