He told the committee the ministry serves approximately 1,200 families weekly, has lost USDA support this year and has seen higher food costs. Davis asked the committee for $100,000 in assistance.
Mayor Larry Waters recommended that the county donate $100,000 and that the county’s cities contribute an additional $100,000. Commissioner Bryan Delius moved approval; Commissioner Michael Maddron seconded. The committee voted unanimously to provide $100,000 from the county.
