The Nance County Board of Supervisors approved a lot split and an easement and held an executive session during its Feb. 24 meeting in Fullerton.
Zoning Administrator Dan Cornwell presented a lot split application from landowner Jeremy Wetovick to carve 1.6 acres from a 160-acre parcel in Section 34, Township 16 Range 6 (SE1/4). The minutes state the smaller parcel is to be sold to Loup River Public Power for use as a substation. The board approved the lot split on a motion by Supervisor Darren Nelson, seconded by Robert Voichoskie. A separate lot-split application for Craig Frenzen was noted but postponed because paperwork had not been received.
An agenda item to sell supplies from the Sheriff’s Department to another law-enforcement agency was discussed; Sheriff Ben Bakewell said they are not selling anything at this time.
The board approved a landowner easement request from C. David Elm to install an irrigation line crossing the intersection of N 400th and N 480th, with the applicant instructed to contact the Highway Superintendent before work begins to confirm specifications (motion by Darren Nelson, seconded by Steve Crouse).
Earlier in the meeting the board entered executive session at 9:41 a.m. for a report of investigation of criminal misconduct and reconvened at 9:53 a.m.; the minutes record that no action was taken following the executive session. The minutes provide no further details about the subject of that investigation.
