Lunenburg approves FY20 carryovers for fire departments and sheriff's equipment; declares three projectors surplus

The Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors on July 9 approved the carryover of FY2019‑20 capital funds into FY2020‑21 for several emergency services organizations and agreed to declare three outdated overhead projectors surplus.
Administrator Tracy M. Gee presented the requested FY2020‑21 carryovers: $30,000 for Kenbridge Fire (bringing the FY21 budget to $60,000), $37,383.39 for Victoria Fire & Rescue (FY21 $127,383.39), $10,000 for Meherrin Fire & Rescue (FY21 $45,000), and $10,211.97 for the Sheriff’s Office (FY21 $40,211.97). Supervisor Mike Hankins moved to approve the carryovers; Supervisor Alvester Edmonds seconded and the motion passed 7‑0 by roll call.
Commonwealth Attorney Robert Clement asked the board to declare three overhead projectors obtained more than 20 years ago as surplus property because they are outdated technology. Supervisor Frank Bacon moved and Supervisor Alvester Edmonds seconded; the board approved the surplus declaration unanimously.
These items were approved as part of routine fiscal housekeeping at the July meeting.
