Charlevoix County Veterans Affairs Committee elects officers, adopts 2025 meeting schedule

The Charlevoix County Veterans Affairs Committee elected officers for 2025 and approved a quarterly meeting schedule during its Jan. 8 meeting at the Charlevoix County VA Office.
Vice Chair Timothy Nemecek moved to approve the minutes from Dec. 11, 2024, a motion Henry Erber seconded; the committee voted unanimously to adopt the minutes. During unfinished business, Nemecek moved, supported by John Bush, to adopt a quarterly calendar with meetings on April 9, July 9 and Oct. 8, 2025; the motion passed with six yeas and no nays.
In new business, the committee voted on officer nominations. Nemecek moved, with Joni Hosler seconding, to elect Henry Erber as chairperson; the motion passed unanimously. Erber then moved, supported by John Bush, to elect Timothy Nemecek as vice-chairperson; that motion also passed unanimously. Erber moved, with Nemecek supporting, to elect Joni Hosler as secretary; the committee approved the nomination.
All roll-call votes recorded the following members as voting yes on the motions: Henry Erber, Tim Nemecek, Joni Hosler, John Bush, Thomas Breakey and Mark Warner. The transcript lists several absences: Seth Thorson, Scott Hankins (board liaison), Kevin Shepard and Becki King. County staff present included Kylee Wells and Polly Busman.
