Auditors present 2024 year‑end report; commissioners advance final 2026 budget draft for public notice

County auditors presented their annual report for the year ending Dec. 31, 2024 and told the commissioners they had filed the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) report and published notice in the Fulton County News.
Auditors Penny Kipp, Holly Falkosky and Rebecca Kendall said the full audit is available on the county website. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and Mike Lamb of Wessel & Co. met with department heads and commissioners for a final budget review intended to ready the draft 2026 budget for public advertisement. Commissioners gave verbal approval to present the final draft at the next meeting for tentative adoption.
The review covered office accounts and accounting practices; the auditors reported they had completed required filings and public notice. Commissioners did not adopt a final budget on Nov. 18 but scheduled the 2026 tentative adoption vote for the following meeting after public notice and any required adjustments.
