Screven County approves SPLOST spending for recreation, fire service equipment and 911 drainage

Commissioner J.C. Warren moved to approve purchase of items for a Screven County Fire Department F250 to put the vehicle in service, using $9,619.67 from 2025 SPLOST funds; Commissioner Justin Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Ben Thompson moved to approve up to $10,000 from 2025 SPLOST funds to mitigate drainage issues at the 911 facility; Commissioner Mike Dixon seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner J.C. Warren suggested installing gutters as soon as possible to avoid further problems at the site.
