Glory House tells Minnehaha County it’s at capacity, plans expansion in 2022–2023

Nicole Dvorak, interim president of Glory House, and Kelly Cleveringa, the program coordinator, told the Minnehaha County Commission on Nov. 2 that the nonprofit’s apartments are at capacity and outlined plans to build additional units in 2022–2023.
Dvorak described the planned expansion as including efficiency units as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments to serve people exiting homelessness or treatment programs. Cleveringa summarized the program’s use of evidence-based practices and cognitive behavioral approaches in resident services and cited a recent client who purchased a home after receiving services from Glory House.
The presenters requested continued county awareness of Glory House’s capacity constraints and its construction timeline; the commission received the presentation for informational purposes and did not take a funding vote at the meeting.
