Commission authorizes BRIC grant application, CARES sub-recipient agreement, juvenile detention consulting and AV upgrades

The commission authorized multiple county agreements: SECOG to apply for the BRIC grant; a CARES sub-recipient agreement with SDHDA; the 2022 MPO agreement; consulting services with The Tegra Group for the juvenile detention facility ($51,900 total); and an AVI Systems sales agreement ($170,164.72) for AV upgrades.
At its Nov. 23 meeting, the Minnehaha County Commission approved several agreements to advance infrastructure, planning and county operations. By unanimous votes the commission authorized SECOG to apply for the Federal Hazard Mitigation BRIC program on behalf of Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties and approved a sub-recipient agreement with the South Dakota Housing Development Authority to disburse SD CARES funds through Human Services.
The commission also approved the 2022 Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization agreement with SECOG and authorized a consulting agreement with The Tegra Group to support work on the Juvenile Detention Facility. Per the minutes Tegra will be paid $8,650 per month for six months (total $51,900) to provide project-team assembly, conceptual design, condition assessment and master budget and schedule work. Commissioners further authorized a Sales Agreement with AVI Systems Inc. to relocate and upgrade audio-visual equipment in commission chambers and an overflow room for $170,164.72; minutes note ARPA funding is anticipated to cover this expense.
Each authorization was made by motion and recorded as carrying with four ayes. The minutes do not record dissent or conditions attached to these authorizations.
