Cowley County votes to oppose Evergy transmission route, will submit letter to KCC

County Administrator Lucas Goff told commissioners he met with Evergy representatives and had prepared a letter of opposition. County Counselor Mark Krusor said Evergy’s brief was well written but cautioned the commissioners about litigation costs and noted that the statewide system for installing lines is consistent across Kansas, which could complicate legal challenges. After discussing those cautions, the board agreed the letter prepared by Goff was well written and voted 3-0 to submit it to the Kansas Corporation Commission.
