Bacon School unavailable as Saxe-Bacon polling place; board scouts churches and community sites

The Charlotte County Electoral Board learned on April 15 that Bacon School will not be available for use as the Saxe-Bacon precinct polling place for the 2021 elections.
A school system representative, Mr. Arbogast, informed the board that the school system had decided against using the school because of safety concerns for children. Secretary Glenwood Foster reported the board's outreach to alternate sites: Lebanon church and the Depot at Randolph declined, while other local properties (a store at Randolph and Tucker's store) remain possibilities. Shiloh church offered continued use of its building if needed.
Board members also noted that guidance about drop boxes for early voting was not yet available and they expected direction from the Department of Elections. The board discussed staffing and logistics tied to early voting; the CAP precinct will be open the last two Saturdays before the election, per the registrar's report.
No formal location was chosen April 15; the board said it would continue site scouting and coordinate with the school system and registrar to finalize polling-place plans ahead of the June primary.
