On returning to open session the board read a certification resolution stating in part, "WHEREAS the Charlotte County Electoral Board has convened an executive session on this date pursuant to an affirmative recorded vote and in accordance with provisions of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act," and citing section 2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia. The board then took the required roll-call vote to certify that only matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed; the certification vote was recorded as Mr. Fane — aye, Mr. Baker — aye, Mr. Foster — aye.
The board also noted it has not yet reorganized to determine a chair and secretary; that reorganization is scheduled for its next regular meeting on Feb. 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned after the unanimous certification vote.
