Argo council approves agenda, minutes, junior city council, LGC proposal and vehicle tire purchase

At its Jan. 12 meeting the council unanimously approved the agenda and Dec. 16 minutes, authorized the Argo Junior City Council application, approved an LGC proposal for $1,200 from the General Fund and approved up to $1,400 for tires for a city F-350 from the 0.02 Cent Account.
The City of Argo Council voted unanimously on multiple routine items at its Jan. 12 meeting.
Mayor Pro-Tem Corky Massey moved and Councilperson Mike King seconded approval of the meeting agenda; the motion passed with roll call votes recorded as Griffin — yes, Suggs — yes, Hopkins — yes, King — yes, Massey — yes, Hettich — yes. Massey then moved and King seconded approval of the Dec. 16, 2025 minutes; the council approved the minutes by the same unanimous roll call.
Under old business the council approved the Argo Junior City Council application after a motion from Mayor Pro-Tem Massey and a second from Councilperson King; the motion passed unanimously. Councilperson Rick Hopkins was assigned to draft Park Board application and bylaws and Councilperson Dennis Griffin was assigned to research a Business Alliance.
In new business the council approved an LGC proposal for $1,200 to be paid from the General Fund (motion by Mayor Pro-Tem Massey; second by Councilperson King; unanimous roll call). Councilperson Dennis Griffin moved and Councilperson Rick Hopkins seconded a motion to purchase tires for a 2015 Ford F-350 not to exceed $1,400, to be paid from the 0.02 Cent Account; that motion also passed by unanimous roll call.
No public comments were recorded and the meeting adjourned. These votes were procedural approvals recorded in the meeting minutes.
