Reese Wedel, chairman of the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners, said the county will revise two Road Maintenance & Road Agreements for energy projects because earlier versions “had verbiage that was beyond the scope of what the County could approve.” The board unanimously approved motions to return the amended agreements to a future agenda after the Garfield County District Attorney reviews and signs them.
The agreements concern the Skeleton Creek Energy Center LLC and Breckenridge Energy Storage LLC projects. Commissioner David Loesch moved to proceed with changes to the Skeleton Creek agreement and to place it on a future agenda following district-attorney review; Vice-Chairman Clarence Maly made the comparable motion for the Breckenridge Energy Storage agreement. Both motions passed on unanimous votes (Aye: Wedel, Maly, Loesch).
Two residents listed on the meeting sign-in sheet — NeAnne Clinton and Suzanne Hunter — were allowed two minutes each to speak during the public comment period. The official transcript notes their participation but does not record the content of their remarks.
The board did not adopt final versions at the April 29 session. Commissioners said the agreements are being revised to remove language outside the county’s authority and will return for formal consideration after the district attorney’s review and signature.
