During committee reports the solid waste advisory committee update reported work toward rewriting Spencer County’s 1991 solid-waste ordinance to consider mandatory garbage pickup.
Magistrate Travis said the county had been asked by KIPDA and the Solid Waste Department in Frankfort to update the ordinance. He said Danielle Story from KIPDA would assist with redrafting the ordinance by February, after which the court could schedule two readings and prepare specifications for companies to bid on collection contracts.
No motion was taken; the item was reported as a committee update and next steps include drafting and scheduling readings.
