The county provided estimates from UHL Truck of Kentuckiana (dealer estimate line items itemized in the packet) showing parts and labor for EGR/DPF servicing and a separate clutch-estimate with a combined estimated total near $10,798.83.
After debate about communication and whether older International trucks should be surplused, the court voted to ratify the repairs. The roll call recorded "Ayes" from Esq. Travis, Judge Riley, Esq. J. Moody and Esq. Brewer; "Nays" were Esq. M. Moody and Esq. Beaverson. "I did not know what else to do but get the truck back on the road," Judge Riley said, explaining his decision to authorize the work to restore service.
Court members said they would consider surplusing the International trucks in future meetings and noted frustration about notification as the estimate rose. The judge said replacement would be discussed at a future meeting; no surplus action was taken that night.
