Spencer County schedules pre-bid for new residential solid-waste contract; bids due Oct. 22

Spencer County Fiscal Court's solid-waste committee reported progress on specifications for a new residential garbage-collection contract and announced the procurement timeline.
Esq. Travis said he and Esq. Brewer had worked on contract specifications and that City staff member Steve Biven is preparing the solicitation. The court scheduled a pre-bid meeting for interested contractors at Taylorsville City Hall on Oct. 6 at 1:00 p.m. Bids will be accepted until Oct. 22 and opened the same day at 5:00 p.m. at Taylorsville City Hall. The committee said the pre-bid will allow the county to reconcile what the city and prospective contractors want included before publishing the final solicitation in the newspaper.
The court directed staff to publish the bid notice and hold the pre-bid meeting. No award was made at the Sept. 21 meeting; the procurement process and specification draft will be refined prior to bid opening.
