Frankfort — The Franklin County Fiscal Court convened Aug. 10, 2023, and approved a set of routine motions that included authorizing the purchase of two 2023 Dodge Chargers for the sheriff’s office, authorizing a Homeland Security grant application, and accepting a state rural roads agreement into the county road system.
County Judge/Executive Michael Mueller called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. Squires Sherry Sebastian, J.W. Blackburn, Kelly Dycus, Scotty Tracy, Richard Tanner and Eric Whisman were present, and County Attorney Max Comley attended. The session lasted only a few minutes and adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
Why it matters: The court authorized Resolution #22-2023, allowing the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office to apply for a Law Enforcement Protection Program grant from the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security, which could fund equipment or protective measures for the sheriff’s office if awarded.
