Shanda Hamilton, executive director of CASA, appeared before the Fiscal Court on Nov. 12 to deliver the organization's annual report on services provided by Court Appointed Special Advocates and to describe upcoming fundraising events.
Solid Waste Coordinator Donna Ramey told the court that the recent Waste Tire Collection Event collected 32,678 tires; Ramey had submitted that report to the Fiscal Court. The court discussed current garage permit fees and whether to increase the annual fees; members agreed to place the item on the next agenda after a review of fee amounts charged by other counties.
The CASA report and the solid waste data were presented for information; no further formal action on CASA's request or on solid waste policy was recorded at the meeting.
