Sevier County Beer Board unanimously approves two on-premise beer permits

Chairman Greg Haggard convened the board at 4:00 p.m.; six members were present and one was absent. Member Todd Humble moved to accept the prior meeting minutes and member Scott Catlett seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board then reviewed an application for Catrina Mexican Grill, 168 Maryville Highway, Seymour. Business owner Daniel Phillip Fernandez told the board the establishment would sell "just beer." There were no objections from the public, member Dale Hill moved to accept the consideration, Humble seconded, and the board approved the permit unanimously.
Next the board considered a permit for Wears Valley Social Food Truck Park, 3209 Wears Valley Road, Sevierville. Owner Joseph Socha said beer service would operate out of a shipping container fixed on the property rather than from a mobile truck. Clerk Adra Rowland reported that when the clerk's office consulted the state, the state attorney's office recommended issuing a temporary 30-day permit for seasonal premises that could be renewed monthly. With no public objections, Hill moved to accept the consideration, Catlett seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members also noted that La Petrona Mexican restaurant, mentioned at a prior meeting, has closed and been sold; the board left that item on the table. Member Todd Humble moved to adjourn and Catlett seconded; the meeting adjourned at 4:12 p.m.
