Bland County approves consent agenda, school requisition and administrative measures

At its Jan. 25, 2022 meeting Bland County supervisors approved payroll and vendor payments, appropriated $809,712.83 to the Bland County School Board, adopted administrative policies including an infectious-disease plan and the FY23 budget calendar, and approved small local appropriations.
The Bland County Board of Supervisors approved its consent agenda and several administrative items at the Jan. 25, 2022 regular meeting.
On a motion by Supervisor Stephen Kelley, seconded by Adam Kidd, the board approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, 2021 and the Jan. 3, 2022 organizational meeting; payroll issued 12-31-2021 in the amount of $101,852.62 and payroll issued 01-14-2022 in the amount of $101,716.03; bills for November 2021 totaling $96,313.79, December 2021 totaling $429,251.36 and January 2022 totaling $415,027.87; and routine departmental reports. The board also appropriated the Bland County School Board's February 2022 requisition in the amount of $809,712.83 and appropriated $11,904.29 local allotment for Social Services. Roll call vote was unanimous.
County Administrator Dr. Eric Workman and staff presented several administrative items that the board approved unanimously: a $30.60 permit-fee waiver for county projects; adoption of the FY23 budget calendar; and adoption of revised Infectious Disease Prevention Plan and Policies. The board also appropriated $454.10 from Supervisor Adam Kidd's Supervisors' Special Fund to the Ceres Ruritan.
There were no public comments recorded during the meeting. The board adjourned by unanimous motion and set its next meeting for Feb. 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the Bland County Courthouse.
