Charles R. Slayton re‑elected chairman; Frank W. Bacon re‑elected vice‑chair at Lunenburg County Board reorganizational meeting

At the Jan. 13, 2022 reorganizational meeting the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors unanimously re‑elected Charles R. Slayton as chairman and Frank W. Bacon as vice‑chair, adopted the 2022 meeting and holiday calendars and approved Robert’s Rules of Order.
Charles R. Slayton was unanimously re‑elected chairman of the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors at the board’s Jan. 13, 2022 reorganizational meeting. Supervisor Mike Hankins nominated Slayton and Supervisor T. Wayne Hoover seconded the nomination; a roll call vote confirmed Slayton as chair.
Frank W. Bacon was unanimously re‑elected vice‑chair after a nomination by Supervisor Hankins and second by Supervisor Hoover. The board accepted the 2022 Invocation and Meeting Schedule and the 2022 Holiday Calendar by unanimous roll call.
The board also adopted Robert’s Rules of Order and its Rules of Procedure, again by unanimous vote. Administrator Tracy M. Gee opened the meeting and Chairman Slayton presided. Supervisor Alvester Edmonds led the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the invocation.
The reorganizational actions set the board’s leadership, meeting cadence and parliamentary procedure for 2022. The board later presented Resolutions of Achievement honoring local youth football teams for their 2021 championships and sportsmanship.
