Arlington approves TDOT-funded Airline Road signal contract, moves forward on Providence Place and zoning

Arlington’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved multiple transportation and development actions at its Dec. 1 meeting, including awarding a state- and federally funded contract to build traffic signalization at Airline Road and Arlington Trail and advancing a development agreement for Providence Place.
Town Administrator Catherine Durant said sealed bids were opened Oct. 14 and that Madden Phillips was the lowest responsive bidder for the Airline Road at Arlington Trail signalization project (TDOT PIN #131079.00). Durant said the construction contract carries a 365-day term and that the project is 100% state- and federally funded; she told the board staff recommended approval. Alderman Oscar Brooks moved to approve Resolution 2025-45 and Alderman Barker seconded; the motion carried.
