Arlington awards contract for Forrest Street Park field lighting

Town Administrator Catherine Durant said the lighting project is the final phase of the park redevelopment. "This is the final phase of the Forrest Street Park project and would provide field lighting," Durant said, and staff recommended the lowest, responsive bidder.
Parks Director Lee Upchurch answered a council question about pole color, confirming the fixtures will match other town facilities such as the Tennis Complex and Sports Complex. Alderman Oscar Brooks moved approval; Alderman Larry Harmon seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: the town will execute the contract with Volunteer Electrical in accordance with TDEC Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) grant requirements and proceed with installation.
