Commission enters closed session on collective bargaining, then authorizes manager to carry terms to bargaining table

On a motion by Commissioner Sprague, seconded by Vice‑Chairman Charles Moser, the board voted to enter closed session "in accordance with MCL 15.267 Sec. 8(1)(c) for the purpose of strategy for negotiation session connected with the negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement" at 8:34 a.m.; the motion carried by unanimous roll‑call vote. The board reconvened the regular meeting at 10:05 a.m.
After returning from closed session the board moved, seconded and approved a motion granting Manager Laitinen authorization to bring the items discussed in closed session to the bargaining table "under the limits/parameters discussed in closed session." That authorization was recorded as passed by the board.
No roll‑call vote details other than the unanimous roll call on the closed session motion were recorded in the public minutes. The board adjourned at 10:06 a.m.
