Charlevoix County Transportation Authority approves January bills totaling $25,938.28

The Charlevoix County Transportation Authority approved its January 2025 monthly bills, totaling $25,938.28, during its Feb. 11 meeting.
Authority member Pat Klooster moved to approve the bills; Michael Cunningham seconded the motion. The motion carried on a roll-call vote, 3-0.
During the meeting Transportation Coordinator Sheila Covell highlighted operational concerns including nonworking fuel and oil-pressure gauges on generator #1, a signage issue on the Boyne side, and the planned 2025 fuel bid. Covell also reported that a captain had moved to a substitute role and said a prior applicant might fill the vacancy. Fiscal Officer Becki King said contractor Machin plans to fly drones later in the week, weather permitting; CCE-911 and the sheriff's office were notified. County Administrator Kevin Shepard updated members that Centennial historical markers are unlikely to be ready until May 2026.
The board set its next meeting for March 11, 2025 and adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
