Nicollet County commissioners voted on Jan. 27 to approve submission, adoption and implementation of the Minnesota River–Mankato Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan.
County Assessor Jackson told the board that Nicollet County participated in development of the plan through a memorandum of agreement and policy-committee participation formed in 2024. Partners in the plan include Blue Earth and Le Sueur counties and the cities of Lake Crystal, Mankato, North Mankato and Saint Peter. Commissioner Marie Dranttel moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Kurt Zins seconded, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote.
The adopted plan formalizes collaborative watershed management across participating counties and cities and will guide implementation activities under the plan’s terms.
The resolution will be filed with county records per standard practice.
