Joe Kroll, Transportation Coordinator, presented two quotes for life vests: Amazon priced the vests at $50 per child and $61 per adult, while Charlevoix Ace Hardware quoted $47 per child and $57 per adult. Scott Hankins moved and Pat Klooster seconded authorization for the Transportation Coordinator to purchase the life vests from Charlevoix Ace Hardware; the motion carried on a roll call vote of 3-0.
On fare collection, Kroll said Token Transit charges a 10% fee and that the app loads slowly where the authority operates because of weak internet signal. The board reached consensus to investigate other fare/payment options; no formal procurement action was taken at the meeting.
