Nicollet County approves package of routine administrative resolutions, sets $1 gopher bounty

At its Jan. 6 meeting the Nicollet County Board approved a suite of routine administrative resolutions unanimously.
Director McCormick asked the board to approve a resolution delegating authority for electronic funds transfers under Minn. Stat. §471.38; the board approved the delegation on a roll-call vote. Director Sassenberg presented a 2026 resolution authorizing the Health and Human Services director to execute contracts and agreements for programs already included in the county budget; that resolution passed on a roll-call vote as well.
The board also approved a resolution allowing county funds to be used for employee recognition events throughout 2026, and set the 2026 gopher bounty at $1.00 per gopher. Administrator Mandy Landkamer asked the board to designate the St. Peter Herald as the county’s official newspaper for 2026; the board approved that designation.
The board approved a resolution under Minn. Stat. §311A.12 to permit publication of transportation project advertisements for bids on the Nicollet County website. Separately, the board approved a resolution setting the minimum salary for the County Sheriff and County Attorney for 2027; the resolution passed unanimously.
All resolutions recorded in the minutes passed without recorded opposition. The board then moved on to a contract award for a building repair in North Mankato.
