Nicollet County board elects Dehen chair, Zins vice chair and adopts 2026 committee assignments

The Nicollet County Board of Commissioners unanimously elected Commissioner Mark Dehen as board chair for 2026 and Commissioner Kurt Zins as vice chair during its Jan. 6, 2026 regular meeting.
Commissioner Dranttel opened nominations for chair; Commissioner Kolars nominated Dehen and Commissioner Helget seconded. After no other nominations were offered, the board approved the motion unanimously. Chair Dehen then called for nominations for vice chair; Commissioner Kolars nominated Zins with Commissioner Helget seconding, and that motion also passed unanimously.
County Administrator Mandy Landkamer presented a resolution establishing the board's 2026 committee and board assignments and specifying which meetings qualify for a per diem payment. Commissioners were assigned to a range of regional and internal committees as described in the material presented to the board; the resolution passed by unanimous vote.
The meeting record shows the board conducted these leadership and administrative housekeeping actions at the start of the session and then moved on to other routine business. The board adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
