Fulton County commissioners approve $234,913.72 in payments, hire caseworker and clear administrative items

FULTON COUNTY — The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27 approved $234,913.72 in accounts payable, hired a new caseworker for the Services for Children Department and cleared a slate of administrative items including a county credit card for the Mapping and Planning director.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to approve the Jan. 27 accounts-payable batch, which totaled $234,913.72 across county funds; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann recorded the motion and the board voted "all in favor." The motion covered allocations from the General Fund and several special funds, with the total listed in the county minutes as $234,913.72.
The board approved the hire of Amanda Sheffield as Caseworker II in the Services for Children Department, contingent on required clearances and paperwork. Commissioner Steven L. Wible made the motion to hire; Mary Huston, the county HR administrator, was present for the action. The Salary Board met separately at 11:00 a.m. to record the appointment; separate minutes are on file.
Other administrative approvals included a retroactive authorization for Commissioner Randy H. Bunch to execute an ERAP 2 (Emergency Rental Assistance Program) County Expenditure Certification Form; payment of an invoice to Elect IT Solutions for IT staffing and support for February 2026; approval of an invoice for the Fulton County Tax Collectors Blanket Bond through Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America in the amount of $3,313.00; and renewal of Companion Life insurance for group term life and AD&D at the same rates as 2025, effective April 1, 2026.
The board also approved a travel request for Quinn Wiest to attend a two-day training in State College, Pa., Feb. 4–6, 2026. Commissioners adjourned the meeting at 11:43 a.m.
