Council unanimously approves third readings for rezoning and sign-ordinance changes; adopts EMS proclamations

At its May 10 meeting Sumter County Council unanimously approved two items on third reading and adopted EMS proclamations.
Mrs. Helen Roodman told council there were no changes to RZ-22-02, a request to rezone approximately 17.25 acres at 2675 Warehouse Blvd from Heavy Industrial (HI) to Limited Commercial (LC). Councilman Eugene R. Baten moved and Councilman Artie Baker seconded; the council carried the motion unanimously to grant third reading approval.
Roodman also presented OA-22-07, an amendment to Article 8 of the county sign ordinance to allow transit-related signage and marketing panels on private property, public property, or within public rights-of-way. Councilman Artie Baker moved, Councilman Eugene R. Baten seconded, and council voted unanimously to grant third reading approval to the amendment.
Separately, Mr. Robert Hingst spoke in support of proclamations recognizing Sumter County EMS's 25 years of service and invited council to EMS Week events on May 20; the council adopted the EMS proclamations and an EMS Children’s Day proclamation.
