The Delaware County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Dec. 16, 2025, and approved a series of routine administrative items, including the county's 2026 meeting schedule, a designated-holidays resolution and multiple procurement and finance items.
Chairman David Poindexter and Commissioner Jake Callihan voted to confirm that the meeting notice was properly posted under the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act before the board moved through the agenda. The board approved payment of line-item county claims across departments, signed blanket purchase orders and signed Highway cash documents for January 2026.
Commissioners also approved a resolution to provide $600,000 to the E-911 Trust Authority over four quarters; the board voted to transfer two quarters' worth immediately from the Use Tax account to "catch up." Poindexter described the action as aligning with a previously approved commitment to the E-911 Trust Authority.
The board received and filed Certificates of Liability Insurance and lists of officers for the Eucha and Grove Fire Departments. It opened sealed bids for six-month road materials and authorized advertising sealed bids for a 1999 Parker boat being sold on behalf of the Lakemont Shores Fire Department; bids for the boat are to be received by 01/08/26 at 4 p.m. and opened on 01/13/26 at 9 a.m.
The board also signed the contract formalizing the donation of an Arvest Bank building to the county; commissioners discussed the timeline for the bank to vacate the property and said they would announce details to employees and customers after the contract is signed.
The meeting adjourned at 9:53 a.m.
Votes at a glance: motions for administrative and financial items recorded in the minutes show roll-call affirmations by Commissioners Poindexter and Callihan; where noted, additional elected officials voted (for example, the amended holiday-credit policy for sheriff's staff was approved by a majority of elected officials present).
