Advisory board recommends City-County youth sports pilot; commissioners appoint EMA director and rescind certain emergency powers

Separately, the board appointed David Metcalf as the county's Emergency Management Agency director; the appointment was approved 3-0. Commissioners also approved Chairman Jevin Jensen's renouncement of certain emergency powers (including evacuations, route directives and temporary suspension of specified sales and ordinances) that had been invoked on March 18, 2020, while reaffirming Whitfield County's state of emergency until the Governor of Georgia lifts the state-level declaration.
