Chairman Jevin Jensen opened the meeting at The Wink Theatre and the board, on several unanimous 4-0 votes, approved items that included a $450,000 micro-resurfacing contract, grant administration and architect contracts tied to a CDBG-CV application, a $13,500 GEMA C.E.R.T. grant, and an extension of the District Attorney SPCR contract for $497,252.60.
Why it matters: The micro-resurfacing contract, funded by 2020 SPLOST, covers about 10 miles of roadwork and is intended as a lower-cost, lower-disruption treatment to extend pavement life. The county’s pursuit of CDBG-CV funds is aimed at supporting a Chattanooga Area Food Bank Dalton location; if awarded, the county approved a grant administrator and architect to support the application.…
