Tift County commissioners indicated at their Feb. 7 workshop that several routine items would be placed on the consent agenda for the Feb. 13 regular meeting, including equipment purchases, administrative agreements, alcohol license approvals and a property transfer.
EMS Director Allen Owens recommended buying two Stryker power‑loading systems to outfit two new ambulances so that all four front‑line trucks share the same loading equipment. Owens said the cost is $48,221 and that it would be paid from contingency funds.
County Clerk Miriam Jordan described a proposed two‑year user agreement with GCIC for non‑criminal justice fingerprinting used to process alcohol beverage license applications. Jordan also presented three pending alcohol license applications: Stacey D. Anderson for Dollar General #10931 (1290 Highway 82 E), Mohammed M. Hossain for Tifton Food Mart (607 Short St), and Nizarali Jafarali for Tifton 2509, Inc. dba Tifton Food Mart #2 (2509 Main St). Jordan said the Sheriff reviewed each and recommended approval.
County Manager Jim Carter told the Board that the County and the City jointly own 1.6 acres adjacent to the Henry Tift Myers Airport and both entities had been asked to quitclaim the parcel to the Tift County Airport Authority for proposed use by the Georgia Department of Public Safety for aerial operations.
Commissioners gave consensus to place these items on the Feb. 13 consent agenda. No formal votes or contract awards were recorded at the workshop.
