Tift County commission approves EMS equipment, traffic project, alcohol licenses and airport land conveyance

The Tift County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 13 approved a consent agenda covering equipment purchases, roadway work, licensing and an airport land conveyance.
Items approved by unanimous vote included purchase of two Stryker power loads for EMS at $48,221 to be paid from contingency; authorization to signalize and add left-turn lanes at the New River Church Road and Ferry Lake Road intersection and an amendment to the Watkins & Associates engineering contract for that project, with combined engineering and construction estimated at $790,795 to be funded with TIA (Transportation Investment Act) funds; approval of a user agreement with GCIC for non‑criminal justice fingerprinting; approvals of several retail malt beverage and wine package alcohol license applications for local stores; and approval of a quitclaim deed conveying 1.6 acres adjacent to Henry Tift Myers Airport from Tift County to the Tift County Airport Authority.
Commissioner Paul Webb moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Stan Stalnaker seconded and the motion carried 5–0.
