Residents raise concerns about Green Meadows facility, landfill information at Screven County meeting

During the Oct. 8 Screven County Board of Commissioners meeting, resident Katelyn Weaver addressed the board about the Green Meadows facility, giving each commissioner a folder with her prepared remarks and materials and raising concerns about misinformation tied to the facility.

Kim Brown, who had withdrawn an earlier request to speak, asked to respond to Weaver's presentation. Brown said she has researched landfills, contested some of the information Weaver raised as misinformation and described different landfill types and the categories of waste they accept.
