Screven County commissioners hold called meeting, enter executive session on litigation

The Screven County Board of Commissioners convened a called meeting at 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 22, 2019, at the Screven County Courthouse. Chairman Will Boyd noted the purpose of the meeting was to hold an executive session to discuss personnel and litigation matters.
Commissioner Michael McBride gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The board then approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Commissioner Michael McBride, seconded by Commissioner Rosa Romeo; the motion carried by unanimous vote of the commissioners present.
At 8:01 a.m., Commissioner John O. Triplett moved that the board go into executive session to discuss litigation; Vice-Chairman J.C. Warren seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The record notes the county attorney, Hubert Reeves, and Finance Officer Lori Boulineau were in attendance for the meeting.
The board returned to regular session at 8:58 a.m. Commissioner Michael McBride moved to approve the minutes of the executive session; Commissioner Edwin Lovett seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote. Chairman Will Boyd adjourned the called meeting at 9:00 a.m.
No votes on ordinances, resolutions, contracts or other board actions were recorded in the minutes beyond the procedural motions to approve the agenda, to enter and exit executive session, and to approve the executive-session minutes. The minutes list Commissioner Mike Dixon as absent.
