The Screven County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted a departmental review listing the county's concerns about Atlantic Waste’s application during a called meeting Friday.
Vice‑Chairman J.C. Warren moved to adopt the departmental review as the county’s statement of concerns; Commissioner Rosa Romeo seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner John O. Triplett said the county would make the concerns available on the county website.
Commissioner Mike Dixon asked whether additional concerns could be added later if they arose. County Attorney Hubert Reeves said they could. The action directs that the county's departmental review be given to Atlantic Waste and made publicly available.
Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner Michael McBride moved to approve the meeting agenda; Commissioner John O. Triplett seconded and that motion carried unanimously. The board moved into an executive session at 9:05 a.m. to discuss litigation and returned to open session at 10:10 a.m.; the board then approved the executive session minutes by unanimous vote.
Chairman Will Boyd called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned it at 10:10 a.m. The meeting record lists Vice‑Chairman J.C. Warren and Commissioners John O. Triplett, Michael McBride, Edwin Lovett, Mike Dixon and Rosa Romeo as present.
