Screven County board appoints EMS representative, renews college lease and approves historic-sign relocation

Screven County commissioners on July 21 approved several routine items by unanimous vote, including an appointment, a lease renewal and a letter to state officials about a historic sign.
Commissioner J.C. Warren moved to appoint Dru McBride to the EMS Regional Council; Commissioner John O. Triplett seconded the motion and it carried by unanimous vote.
Commissioner Edwin Lovett moved to renew and allow the chairman to execute a lease agreement with the Technical College System of Georgia and Ogeechee Technical College; Commissioner Michael McBride seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Michael McBride moved to allow Personnel Director/Finance Officer Lori Boulineau to send a letter to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources stating the county approves moving the Battle of Briar Creek sign from county property; Commissioner Lovett seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved routine agenda and minutes approvals at the start of the meeting and entered and returned from an executive session to discuss personnel and litigation. No public comment was offered during the public-comment period.
The meeting adjourned at 10:58 a.m.
