The Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County approved renewal of its annual mental-health services agreement with New Horizons Behavioral Health for FY2025. The agreement, recorded in the minutes, lists a total payment of $2,508 for July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025, disbursed in monthly installments of $209. Commissioner Jason Frost moved to renew the agreement; the motion and second were recorded and the vote was unanimous.
During the July 24 work session County Manager Thomas Weaver provided routine department updates and the board discussed budget amendments expected to return for action at the Aug. 6 meeting. Chairman Charles Coffey criticized early-year spending trends and cautioned departments about asking for more money after overspending early in the fiscal year, saying the behavior can be "almost like a kick in the teeth" to the commission and taxpayers.
The July 24 work session also flagged two reappointments to the Industrial Development Authority (Walter Miller and Lou Beck) for board consideration and recorded a pending request for more 4‑H funding; County Manager Weaver said he would follow up to provide the commission additional details on participation and funding needs. No additional funding decisions for 4‑H were recorded in the minutes.
