Single bid received for Riverbend fishing dock; staff recommends award pending Corps permit

County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners that only a few vendors can meet U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requirements for permitting and that staff planned to request an award contingent on obtaining required Corps permits. At the Sept. 2 regular meeting the commission had already voted to put the project out to bid; the Sept. 22 work session summarized the single-bid result and staff recommendation.
The commission has not recorded a final contract award in the minutes; staff described the next steps as securing permits and then returning to the commission for formal award or for administrative authority to proceed as allowed by county purchasing policies.
Any contracting decision will also be subject to verification of vendor qualifications and permitting by regulatory agencies.
