County commissioners approve minutes, table Friendship Road LMIG bid and enter executive session

The board approved minutes from Feb. 4 (regular and executive session), Feb. 24 (work session & public hearing and executive session) and Feb. 27 (called meeting). Commissioner Damon Hoyte moved to approve the Feb. 4 regular minutes; Commissioner Gerald Douglas seconded and the vote was unanimous. Similar motions were made and recorded for the other minutes listed in the packet.
On New Business, Commissioner Jason Frost moved to table putting Friendship Road LMIG out to bid for final vote at a work session; Commissioner Douglas seconded and the motion passed unanimously. County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners at the March 25 work session that bid packets had been received and technical specifications required review before returning the item for a vote.
Commissioners also approved a GDOT right‑of‑way mowing and maintenance agreement and two CDBG resolutions (one authorizing application and one obligating $47,500 as local match); those items are described separately in the meeting packet. At 9:11 a.m. the board voted unanimously to enter executive session to discuss legal issues; the meeting reconvened at 9:20 a.m. and Chairman Charles Coffey stated the closed portion addressed legal matters allowed under Georgia’s open‑meetings law and that no votes were taken while in session. The meeting adjourned at 9:24 a.m.
